Wisconsin Dells WI-The Gandrud Performance Parts NASCAR Late Models delivered 50 grueling laps of short-track action during the Ron Meister Memorial 50 Saturday night at Dells Raceway Park.

Race Action & Highlights

Early Battles: Jesse Bernhagen grabbed the early lead in the evening’s main event, pacing the field for the first 20 circuits. Elroy’s Andrew Borntreger then muscled his way to the front, taking over the top spot.

Lichtfeld's Charge: Borntreger’s time out front was cut short as four-time defending champion Mike Lichtfeld carved his way forward from a row 4 starting spot (7th) to claim the lead with 20 laps remaining.

Closing Laps: Lichtfeld checked out from the field until a late-race caution bunched the pack back up on his rear bumper. Handling the ensuing restart with veteran precision, Lichtfeld drove away virtually unchallenged to capture the checkers and the $1500.00 Top Prize.

"We needed this," Lichtfeld said in victory lane regarding the tight championship points battle. "We came into tonight with a football mentality. Four races left so we’re in the 4th, so it’s time to go."
