Maple Park, Ill., June 14—Brian Shirley came home the winner of Sunday night’s 30-lap DIRTcar Summer Nationals “Hell Tour” at Sycamore Speedway – located some 60 miles west of Chicago.

Shirley, a four-time Summer Nationals titlist from Chatham, Ill., wheeled his Bob Cullen Racing late model to the win at the three-eights mile dirt track ahead of Jason Feger, Tanner English, Clay Stuckey, Daniel Adam and Frank Heckenast Jr.  Shirley posted his first Summer Nationals win of the year – the 40th anniversary of the “Hell Tour” –  leading all 30 laps after starting on the inside of the front row of the 22-car field.  It was Shirley 44th career Nationals win and his fourth at Sycamore – previously winning in 2021 through 2023.

“It’s been a tough week at some places we should be able to win at,” Shirley said. “I was really nervous coming into today, knowing that we weren’t going to run next week. So, it’s really awesome to be able to get one and it’s just nice to end the week, as bad as it started, on a good day.”

In accompanying races, the 20-lap street stock feature race saw Zach Zuberbier take the checkered flag in front of Nick Clubb, Joel Hernandez, David Dulceak and Kraig Hughes.  Kevin Memoli captured the 15-lap pure stock division headliner.  Memoli defeated Ryan Petrukovich and Joe Moberg.
