Norway, MI - The Appalachian Sucker Punch ASA Midwest Tour presented by Five Star Race Car Bodies will head up to the upper peninsula of Michigan this Saturday night for a short track battle at Norway Speedway in Norway, Michigan.

Last year, the popular super late model tour returned to the Dickinson County Fairgrounds quarter-mile oval with fan favorite Dalton Zehr taking the victory.

The 2025 race didn’t disappoint as it saw four different leaders with Andy Monday leading early until Levon Van Der Geest got past him on a restart. A few laps later, four-time Midwest Tour champion Casey Johnson took the lead but had Zehr right on his bumper and would take over the top spot on lap 59.

Johnson would finish second, in his first-ever visit to Norway Speedway, with Van Der Geest in third.

Expect those three to return for this year’s running along with recent Midwest Tour winner Paul Shafer Jr., who captured the Salute the Troops 100 victory at Jefferson Speedway.

Johnson, Shafer, and Van Der Geest are already locked into a tight points battle coming into Saturday night with the top three only separated by 14 points.

Local Norway Speedway competitors like Joey Pontibrand and Dan Lindsley plan to compete with the tour stars as entry forms keep rolling in for this Saturday night.

Johnson is looking for his fifth Midwest Tour title, which will tie him with Ty Majeski for the most ASA Midwest Tour championships.

The Appalachian Sucker Punch 100 presented by Weimar Bearing and Transmission will headline an evening of racing that will also feature the Norway Speedway Sportsman, Super Stock, and 4-cylinder divisions.

Tickets will be on sale at the speedway on race day, along with a live broadcast on tracktv.com.
