BIG 8 SERIES AT MADISON

The second race of the 2026 Big 8 Late Model Series is set Friday night at Madison Int’l Speedway.

Jeremy Miller won the series opener in April at the Grundy County Speedway. Michael Bilderback finished second followed by Alex Braseth, Eddie Hoffman, and Jon Reynolds Jr.

The series made its first appearance in June of 2005 when Tim Sauter captured the flag in the 38-lap main event. This year’s 48 lap feature will be the 28th here at Madison.

Miller has the most wins at Madison with five while Dale Nottestad (4), Bilderback (3), Reynolds Jr. (2), Ross Kenseth (2), and Zack Riddle (2) drivers with more than one victory. Other Madison winners include Sargent, Casey Johnson, Austin Nason, Steve Rubeck, John Baumeister Jr., Ryan Carlson, Brian Hoppe, Brady Liddle, and Sauter.

The 602 Outlaw Late Models will also be on the card at the half-mile oval on Friday. This will be the 9th “602”event at Madison with past winners including Bobby Wilberg (3) as well as Tom Carlson, Jeff Steenbergen, Hunter Stenson, Dennis Prunty, and Adam Peschek each with one victory. Carlson owns the track record with a lap of 18.682 set in May of 2022.

Legends and Bandeleros round out the four-division program.

Pit Gates open at 2:30 with grandstands at 6:00 PM.  Practice begins at 4:45 followed by qualifying at 6:15, Opening Ceremonies at 7:25  with racing beginning at 7:30 pm.
