Jeremy Miller scored the Big 8 Series season opening victory taking the checkered flag in Saturday’s Spring Classic at Grundy County Speedway.
The race featured five different leaders and seven different lead changes before Miller was able to wrestle away the top spot for good and outrun Michael Bilderback to the finish line.
It turned out to be an at times wild 58-lap affair at the 1/3-mile track on a cold and windy Saturday afternoon.
Miller, Bilderback, Alex Braseth, Jon Reynolds Jr. and Eddie Hoffman rounded out the top five. Joshua Lundy, Frank Beldowski, Kevin Anderson and Mahlon Borntreger completed the finishers in a short field that showed up for the opening race of 2026.
Scotty Gardner won the Mid-Am feature, Breanna Riggins took the Sixers main event and Camden Grommes brought home the checkered flag in the Super Cup feature.
Next up for the Big 8 Series is a trip to Madison Int’l Speedway on Friday night, May 22. Grundy County will have its Cabin Fever weekly season opener on Saturday, May 2nd.
