PLOVER, Wis. - February 2026 - Golden Sands Speedway is proud to announce the return of a cornerstone event to its 2026 racing calendar: the Zach Budleski Memorial Race, scheduled for Friday, June 12, 2026.
This special night promises high-speed competition paired with a heartfelt tribute to a beloved member of the racing community. The memorial race honors the legacy of Zach Budleski and "to bring awareness, end the stigma and to help bring comfort for those suffering" stated Lisa Zach's mother. The event is designed to celebrate his
life, bringing together fans, drivers, and families for an evening of remembrance and exhilarating action. "This race is more than just a competition; it's about community and ensuring people recognize they are not alone," said Scott Hoeft competition director. "We're committed to creating a night where Zach's memory fuels the excitement on the track and brings everyone together under the lights."
Fans can expect a full slate of racing divisions, featuring some of the region's top drivers battling for the memorial trophy. Super Late Models, Super Stocks, 4 Cylinder Stocks and Mods and Sixers.
The Zach Budleski Memorial Race stands out as a local tradition with profound meaning. Many life issues can drive a person to the point of suicide, loss, abuse, finances, mental illness to name a few. There is help, someone will listen. My hope is someday Todd and I will hear, "I remembered Zach when I chose to stay" stated Zach's mother Lisa.
