Hi and welcome to Midwest Racing Central, a digital initiative dedicated to coverage of short track racing.
Our original plan was to launch in the summer of 2024, which we did for a while anyway. Unfortunately, the saying life got in the way derailed the rollout and subsequent coverage we hoped to provide. But we’re thrilled to report things have gotten back on track and we’re ready to get going on what we hope will be a destination for short track fans.
The goal of “Midwest Racing Central” is to cover the weekly and regional series short track world primarily around Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Michigan with a focus on asphalt racing. MRC will also provide coverage of dirt track specials around the region as well as national asphalt racing series.
The inspiration was to create a digital presence to what “Midwest Racing News,” Checkered Flags Racing News” and “Hawkeye Racing News” provided during the weekly newspaper era of media coverage. The overall vision is to produce an all-encompassing portal for fans to access the latest information of what’s happening in and around the region including planning their track visits and attendance.
Our long-term plan to grow and expand our coverage to include multi-media offerings including audio and video components in addition to results, previews, feature stories and more. MRC will also look back on the rich history and heritage of racing around the region with features focused on the drivers, tracks and series of days gone by.
We’re also working on partnering with other entities entrenched in the short track world to provide a wide spectrum of coverage and insight.
From star-studded events like the Bettenhausen 100, National Short Track Championship, Oktoberfest and more to the Friday, Saturday and Sunday night weekly shows, MRC is your home for everything short track racing.
We’re glad to be back but more importantly glad you’re here and along for the ride.
